Campy? Yup.
Unrealistic? Completely.
45 minutes chock full of nerdy/goofy/adventurey fun? Oh yeah.
1 sentence plot intro to whet your appetite- this nerdy guy who works at a Best Buy-like store gets some government secrets downloaded into his brain and then has to be protected by some CIA/NSA agents. And then it gets fun.
The first episode we saw was "Chuck versus the Sandworm" and it contained numerous references to the sci-fi series "Dune". Any show that does that gets bonus points in my book (I went through an extended sci-fi phase during high school). I've included a few lines of dialogue below to give you a taste of the show- they probably won't be as funny as they are in person, so I then recommend that you watch the pilot and the 3 most recent episodes at nbc.com.
[Harry is the oppressive/bad guy sort-of manager at the BuyMore]
Harry: Chuck.
Chuck: Hi... Harry. Ah, look we'll be back up and running in five minutes.
Harry: Five minutes? Do you know what five minutes means in BuyMore dollars?
Chuck: I didn't realize we had our own currency.

[Morgan is Chuck's best friend and Sarah is the CIA agent assigned to protect Chuck]
Sarah: [meeting Chuck and Morgan for the first time] Wow, I didn't think people still named their kids Chuck or, um, Morgan for that matter.
Chuck: My parents were sadists; and carnival freaks found him[Morgan] in a dumpster.
Morgan: But they raised me as one of their own.

[Casey is the NSA agent also assigned to protect Chuck]
Casey: You shoot him, I shoot you, I leave both your bodies here and go out for a late night snack. I'm thinking maybe pancakes.
