First day of Kindergarten!

Lucy had her first day of kindergarten last week. Our little girl is growing up! She was very excited and had a wonderful time.

Her special first day outfit.

Modeling the backpack. I think it's almost bigger than her (her rest time blanket was in there too).

I love my little Lucy so much.
Clara giving Lucy a hug. She really missed Lucy during the day was so happy when she came home.

Right before the bus came, Lucy found a moth and got it to crawl up on her sleeve.

Our new chart for what Lucy needs to do in the morning to get ready. Of course, the waiting for 7am to get me part is pretty optimistic, but I can hope. :)

End of summer adventures

I wish I was writing about the beginning of summer adventures, but at any rate, here they are!

A last swim at our favorite lake.

Grandma Judy gave the girls this beautiful tree. We're using it to display family pictures in the girls' room- so fun!

We went to an island in the city harbor over labor day weekend. The girls loved everything about the trip- especially the ferry ride. Here's Lucy climbing one of the trees.

We also had fun exploring an old fort there and collecting stones and seashells.

We had a miniature golf family outing the day before school started. Lucy even got a hole in one!

I love Clara's pretend pout.

By the waterfall.

And afterwards there was ice cream!

I just had to throw this one in- Clara talking on the phone to Mimi and Papa Jack. She cracks me up.

We had Grandma over for dinner to celebrate her 83rd birthday- the girls and I made a rainbow cake, which was so much fun- my first one ever!

The birthday grandma with her cake!

Blueberry Picking

That is me standing on the blueberry porch, where you get blueberries.

That is my sister, Clara, outside of the porch, cause they put lots of pinwheels there.

And that is us walking to go get the blueberries. And do you know how hot it was? It was almost 100.

That is my sister picking blueberries in my Grandma's hat.

That is my sister picking blueberries again.

That is my Grandma, picking blueberries.

And that is me, I think I was helping put some blueberries in my sister's bucket.

That is my sister showing a blueberry to us.

And that is a family picture, us sitting on the rocks that's around the blueberry place. Those are my cousins that came with us.

And that is my Grandma, me and my sister.

That is my Grandma, me and my sister again.
That is me holding our blueberry pie!

That's us eating it!

Road trip!

This is in Baltimore at the indoor pool.

These are some pictures from our road trip at the end of June. Captions by Lucy. :) It was a blast!

This is my dad, my sister and me.

This is us at a restaurant going out for dinner, cause we were only staying at a hotel.

That is the overlook from the restaurant.

That is when we were at the restaurant too.

That's in our hotel room. That's me and my sister, we're laying in the beds.

That is at the aquarium of the dolphin show.

And that is a dolphin jumping up.

And that is us when we got all wet cause we were in the splash zone.

That is us in Washington, D.C.

That is us at a space museum, and I am riding in a pretend airplane.

That is my sister riding in a pretend airplane that is the same as me.

That is us walking Bella, the dog.

That is us in the museum again.

That's with our friends, Lexi and Luke, swimming in the ocean.

Clara and the book

We are long overdue for a video of Clara talking, so here's a fun one. You'll just have to ignore how many times I ask her if she wants to tell me a story. She was doing it before, but clearly story-telling time was over, Mama! I love how she notices the staples, and her different expressions.

Lucy's play- The Great Kapok Tree

Captions by Lucy, again: This is the great Kapok tree that was in my play, cause I did one. The end.
Can you guess what I was? It has white and red feathers, on the hat too. I'm wrapping myself around my daddy's arm. The end.

So this is my sister, Clara. She's sitting with my daddy. See the big, gray flower in the back? Babies might not see it.

So in this story, I will say, I'm a Macaw. So, I went "caw, caw, caw" cause I was a Ma-caw. And my saying was, "Senor, you must not chop down this tree. Soon the forest will disappear". And my other line was, "Senor, did you know that half of the plants and animals live in the rain forest?" And the other one was, "Senor, did you know that people cut down 125 acres of rain forest every minute?" And my last one was, "Did you know that without the rain forest, there would be no chocolate and no coffee?"

E- I like the look on Lucy's face in this picture. :)

This is my grandma sitting next to me on the bench. Bye-bye. She has white hair, just to remind you.

This is my grandma wrapping her arm around my mom's friend, Lucinda. She has the brown hair, just to
